  • On May 20th, 1927, Charles Lindbergh flew the Spirit of St Louis starting from Long Island, New York and finished in Paris, France. This was the first solo flight across the Atlantic. He was awarded the Orteig prize and the Congressional Medal of Honor.

  • Since this accomplishment, Lindbergh has a child with his wife, Anne. Soon after, the baby Charles A. Lindbergh Jr. was kidnapped from Hopewell, New Jersey where he is kidnapped and killed. Bruno Richard Hauptmann was convicted of murder and sentenced to execution.
